Be sure to stop by in spring and summer! Rape flowers and yellow cosmos Jeju Island hot spots

If you’re looking for a hidden gem café in Seogwipo, I highly recommend Cafe Lucia, located at 49-17 Nandeureu-ro in Andeok-myeon. It’s a place where you can enjoy Jeju’s natural scenery alongside some delicious desserts, with their signature Jeju Garlic Bread and Salted Bread being particularly famous. During my visit, I ordered the Jeju Hallabong Iced Tea, Iced Americano, and, of course, the Jeju Garlic Bread. In this post, I’ll share my honest review of these menu items, along with an overview of the café’s atmosphere, pros, and cons.

Cafe Introduction and Location

Cafe Lucia is located in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, surrounded by Jeju’s quiet and peaceful natural scenery. One of the highlights of this café is the breathtaking view of Hyeongjeseom and Gapado Islands, which you can enjoy while relaxing at the café. The café offers a spacious outdoor terrace and a clean, modern interior. Especially in the spring and summer, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of canola flowers and cosmos, making this place even more picturesque. The combination of wide-open sea views and blooming flowers makes it a perfect spot for enjoying the beauty of nature.

The interior is modern and clean, but it lacks a bit of that cozy, cute aesthetic. It’s perfect for those who prefer a minimalistic and spacious vibe, but if you’re expecting a café filled with charming little details, you might find it a bit lacking.

Jeju Hallabong Iced Tea, Iced Americano, and Jeju Garlic Bread Review

During my visit, I ordered the Jeju Hallabong Iced Tea, Iced Americano, and Jeju Garlic Bread.

The Jeju Hallabong Iced Tea had a burst of fresh citrus flavor from the first sip. The refreshing taste of Hallabong, a unique Jeju fruit, was perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness and tanginess. It was the perfect drink to cool down on a hot day, with just the right amount of flavor that wasn’t overwhelming.

The Iced Americano was simple and refreshing. There’s something about drinking iced coffee while enjoying the fresh Jeju air that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The Americano had a smooth finish, without being too bitter, making it a great choice to pair with dessert.

Now for the star of the show, the Jeju Garlic Bread! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a strong yet pleasant garlic flavor. Using Jeju garlic gave it an extra depth of flavor, making it more special than your usual garlic bread. It wasn’t too overpowering, which makes it a great choice even for those who might not be huge fans of garlic. It was savory, buttery, and had just the right amount of garlic taste to keep you wanting more.

Cafe Atmosphere and Interior

Cafe Lucia’s biggest draw is its spacious terrace, where you can enjoy the view of the sea and Hyeongjeseom and Gapado Islands. On a clear day, there’s no better place to relax and sip your coffee while soaking in the natural beauty. It’s the perfect setting for anyone looking to unwind and escape from the busier parts of Jeju.

The interior of the café is clean and modern, with a minimalist design. It’s simple and spacious, but as mentioned earlier, it might not appeal to those looking for a more cute or cozy vibe. The focus here is more on enjoying the open space and natural surroundings, rather than on intricate or charming décor.

In terms of pricing, the drinks range from 5,000 to 6,000 KRW, and desserts like the garlic bread are priced between 4,000 and 6,000 KRW. Given the stunning views and relaxing atmosphere, I found the prices to be quite reasonable.

What Other Bloggers Say: Pros and Cons

Many bloggers highlight the panoramic views of Hyeongjeseom and Gapado Islands as the café’s greatest strength. It’s not easy to find a café in Jeju with such a stunning view of the sea, making it a popular spot for those who want to enjoy nature while sipping their coffee. Another major pro is the beautiful scenery of canola flowers and cosmos, which bloom in the spring and summer, adding a colorful touch to the surroundings.

However, some bloggers mention that the café lacks a bit of cozy charm. The interior is too modern and minimalist for those looking for a more Instagram-worthy aesthetic with cute decorations. If you visit with the mindset of enjoying the natural scenery rather than expecting a photo-perfect café, you’ll likely have a much better experience.

My Thoughts: Pros

The biggest pro of this café is, without a doubt, the breathtaking view of Hyeongjeseom and Gapado Islands. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the beauty of the sea and islands. Another great feature is the fields of canola flowers and cosmos that bloom in the spring and summer, making the view even more stunning. It’s a place that anyone, from children to adults, can enjoy.

My Thoughts: Cons

Personally, I felt that the café lacked the cozy, cute aesthetic that some people might be looking for. If you’re expecting a café with lots of charming details and décor, you might be a bit disappointed. However, if you’re looking for a spacious spot with great views, this café will still be a fantastic choice.
